Day Trip to the Island of Poel
Small harbors, wide beaches, and rugged cliffs invite you to enjoy long hikes and bike rides across the island of Poel. The towns of Timmendorf and Timmendorfer Strand on the island of Poel are particularly worth seeing. Small cafés and restaurants are perfect for taking a break. A charming harbor with old fishing boats, an old lighthouse, and one of the most beautiful beaches on Poel are well worth a visit.
Day Trip to Wismar
A visit to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Wismar is well worth it—for example, on a night watchman’s walking tour. From Wismar, you can also take various boat tours. In case of bad weather, we recommend hopping from museum to museum to gain fascinating insights into the history of the Hanseatic city, or visiting the Wonnemar water park near Wismar.
A Side Trip to Boltenhagen and Klütz
The Baltic Sea resort of Boltenhagen features a four-kilometer-long, fine-sand beach that transitions from a flat coastline to an impressive cliffside. The cliffside is ideal for hiking. The Boltenhagen beach promenade, on the other hand, is perfect for strolling and taking a leisurely walk. The 290-meter-long pier is an attraction in every season. The tranquil little town of Klütz delights its visitors above all with the largest preserved Baroque castle complex in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, known as Bothmer Castle. Civil weddings are also held here.
