The new Bades Huk vacation resort opened in the summer of 2021 in Hohen Wieschendorf on the Mecklenburg Baltic Sea coast. In 77 apartments located directly on the beach, guests can enjoy the private atmosphere of a vacation rental combined with the all-inclusive service of a resort. Awarded five DTV stars and the DTV “Paws” classification, Bades Huk offers a holistic quality concept set against a unique natural backdrop. Resort specialist Clavis International GmbH is responsible for the development, marketing, and sales of the property.

Director of Clavis International GmbH and Managing Director of Bades Huk Betriebsgesellschaft.
Quality management is a dynamic process. For us, this means constantly evaluating our procedures as part of a structured process, immediately analyzing guest feedback, and implementing improvements in the best possible way.
Tourismusverband Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
You received the DTV Star Rating this year and have demonstrated a strong commitment to quality assurance. Why is quality management important for your company, and how can certifications like this help?
Hamid M. Farahmand
In the ever-more-crowded jungle of offerings, guests are often grateful for guidance from a credible and independent institution. The DTV classification is not only a reliable guide—and thus a decisive competitive advantage—but also a driving force that encourages us to continually rethink, evaluate, learn, and improve. As a relatively new resort, our goal is to demonstrate and further develop quality, because this is the only way we can continue to earn our guests’ trust and grow our customer base. We are located on a peninsula surrounded by nature, and because of our location alone, we have a responsibility to prioritize and honor quality.
TMV
Apart from certification, are there any important quality criteria that are essential to maintaining your quality standards?
Hamid M. Farahmand
Quality requires a holistic approach to thinking and action, and above all: quality is always a team effort. From the resort manager to the housekeeping staff, hospitality and a culture of service are brought to life to offer guests a holistic vacation experience. Ideally, the joy of providing service should increase customer satisfaction and strengthen customer loyalty. Likewise, quality-related principles are upheld at every level throughout the service chain.
TMV
The DTV Star Rating system evaluates quality in the areas of infrastructure, furnishings, and facilities, as well as service. What is essential to meeting guests' quality expectations?
Silva C. Eddicks
We want to create a vacation home where our guests feel right at home. This begins at check-in at the front desk and the moment they first step into the vacation rental. The Bades Huk magazine “Morgenpost,” which is handed out to guests daily, provides information about the region, the country, and its people. Upon request, we’re happy to help plan leisure activities and offer recommendations, and an online guest guide also provides tips and insider information.
Guests also feel satisfied when they realize they can talk to anyone and will always be listened to. An empathetic approach, an open disposition, and a deep understanding of the hospitality mindset are key requirements that we continually encourage, teach, and practice.
Quality management is a dynamic process. For us, this means constantly scrutinizing our procedures as part of a structured process, monitoring trends and needs, and immediately evaluating guest feedback to implement it in the best possible way.
TMV
What other measures do you take to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction?
Silva C. Eddicks
Collaborations with partners in the leisure, cultural, and dining sectors—including joint promotions and vacation packages—ensure a varied and enjoyable stay. The neighboring golf course has been completely modernized and restored to playing condition. At the Bades Huk Shop, you’ll find everything you need for your daily needs, with a focus on regional products. We also strive to create those “goosebump moments” that make your vacation unforgettable. Take, for example, a bonfire on the beach—with a crackling fire, bread on a stick, and marshmallows for our younger guests—paired with delicious snacks, cool drinks, and live music.
TMV
47 of your apartments have been awarded the DTV "Paws" classification as dog-friendly accommodations. What advantages do you see in this classification?
Silva C. Eddicks
We wanted to meet the growing demand with an attractive offering for both dogs and their owners. The “Paws” classification helps guests find vacation accommodations that welcome dogs and offer a verified standard of quality—from amenities and exercise areas to dog-friendly recreational activities.
TMV
Are there any other initiatives you would like to tackle gradually? What goals have you set for yourself for the next three years in this regard?
Hamid M. Farahmand
Our goal is to make a sustainable contribution to preserving and developing the Baltic Sea as a tourist destination, with a focus on sustainable tourism, and to share the region’s unique features with our guests. Environmental and social sustainability are key pillars of our concept. In close collaboration with the local community, we are planning a nature discovery center that will offer valuable insights into the peninsula’s bird and plant life.
At the same time, we want to build up the village structure and sustainably develop the cultural landscape—not only for vacationers, but also for the region and its residents. We would like to further establish year-round, strategic partnerships within the region in order to forge even stronger ties between visitors and the region.
In addition, cycling tourism is becoming an even greater focus for us, as the area around Wismar Bay and Bades Huk’s direct connection to the EuroVelo hiking and biking trail provide the perfect conditions for it.
