“Bike & Travel”—the trade magazine for cycling tours—has once again selected the most popular cycling tours of 2021. In four categories, a total of 5,000 readers and users were able to vote online from among 70 nominated travel stories.
In the category “Best Culinary Tours of 2021,” the Baltic Sea Coast Cycle Route took first place and won the prestigious “Bike & Travel” Award.
In the “Leisure Tour” section, readers were able to decide, among other things, which long-distance bike trail they considered the most family-friendly and the most relaxing.
The Baltic Sea Coast Cycle Route in Germany has a total length of approximately 1,140 kilometers, of which about 695 kilometers run from Lübeck-Travemünde through Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania to Ahlbeck on Usedom. Over the course of 15 stages, cycling vacationers pass through places such as the artists’ colony of Ahrenshoop on the Fischland-Darß-Zingst Peninsula, the UNESCO World Heritage city of Stralsund, Cape Arkona on the island of Rügen, and the Baltic Sea resorts of Zinnowitz and Heringsdorf on the sunny island of Usedom.
