The Wohlenberger Sanddorn Farm Store is located on the beach at Wohlenberger Wiek, between Wismar and Boltenhagen. This family-run business uses locally grown sea buckthorn berries—known as the “lemons of the North”—to freshly produce a wide variety of products, such as juice, punch, syrup, and spreads, as well as cosmetics and soaps.

The Klützer Landschlachterei places a high value on sustainable and regional production. The butcher shop still produces its goods according to traditional recipes and exclusively by hand. In addition to sausage and meat from the farm’s own animals, which were raised on the farm, the Steinbecker farm store also offers regional products—such as goat and sheep cheese from local farms, jams, organic potatoes, and clothing made from sheep’s wool. During the Hanseatic League era, coastal cities served as important hubs for the trade in wine and other spirits. Anyone who enjoys a glass of sparkling wine will therefore find what they’re looking for in Wismar: at the Hanse Sektkellerei Wismar, Germany’s northernmost sparkling wine cellar, dating back to 1648. In the historic old vault—which was likely once part of the city’s fortifications—guided tours with tastings are also available (for groups of 10 or more).

The Brauhaus am Lohberg in Wismar dates back to the 15th century. Even today, beer is brewed there in the tradition of the Hanseatic era: the Wismarer Mumme. The first master brewer, Hinricus Noyte, lent his name to an entire line of fine spirits.
