Following the opening of the first nine holes in August, the renovation work is now fully complete, and on October 31, all 18 holes will be open for play again for the first time after a long hiatus!
This is good news not only for the members of the Hohen Wieschendorf Golf Club, but also for the new members of the Bades Huk Golf Club and many other fans of the course, including many young people who remember the course from years past.
Following the renovation, the course has become slightly hillier and more varied, which makes the game a bit more exciting and offers unique views of the surrounding Baltic Sea. With the changes to the course layout, the range of playing options has expanded significantly. Sustainability was also a key consideration, so boulders and existing vegetation were integrated into the new design. Christoph Städler is responsible for the design; he and his team have been working on the golf course since fall 2020. Overall, the new course offers a varied playing experience for both professionals and beginners.
A golf academy is also scheduled to open by fall 2022, which will ensure a sufficient supply of young golfers on the Baltic Sea coast as well.
To celebrate the occasion, there will be two small opening tournaments on October 31, 2021, and November 7, 2021, including a get-together and awards ceremony with a meal at the Marina Café by the sea.
There are still a few spots available for the tournament on November 7, 2021.
The tournament does not count toward your handicap, so you can sign up and play with a partner or friends. Tee-off begins at 10:00 a.m. The entry fee is EUR 30 for members of the Bades Huk Golf Club and the Hohenwieschendorf Golf Club e.V., and EUR 60 for guests, including a one-day green fee.
