This route takes you westward through the idyllic countryside to one of the region’s most impressive landmarks. The trail leads from Bades Huk to Wohlenberger Wiek and on to Klütz, ending at the Baltic Sea resort of Boltenhagen. Enjoy highlights such as Schloss Bothmer: The largest Baroque Schloss Mecklenburg-Vorpommerns in Klütz is an absolute must-see. The Großklützhöved Cliffs Between Boltenhagen and the Wohlenberger Wiek, it is nearly 40 meters high and offers a spectacular view of the Baltic Sea. Stop for a culinary break at the Sanddorn farm stand in Wohlenberg for a taste of the region, and feel free to recharge your battery there if needed.
But also the tour from Bades Huk to the island of Poel is one of the most varied routes in the region. On an e-bike, you can cover the distance at a leisurely pace and still have enough energy for the beautiful Inselumrundung. This tour combines the journey from Bades Huk on the Baltic Sea Coast Cycle Route (EV 10) heading east along the Baltic Sea with the island’s highlights. After about 35 km, you’ll reach Poel. Cross the causeway that connects the mainland to the island of Poel (the village of Fährdorf).
Eine Inselumrundung (ca. 30 km) bietet viele Highlights:
Drive directly from Fährdorf to Kirchdorf: Visit the idyllic harbor and the historic brick church. From Kirchdorf, the route leads to Timmendorf Strand: Follow the well-maintained bike paths to the Leuchtturm Timmendorf. This is one of the island's most popular spots, with a wide sandy beach and a seaside atmosphere. Einkehrtipp: Das Gasthaus Zur Insel offers a rustic atmosphere and regional fish dishes. The journey continues along the north coast. The beach at the Schwarzen Busch invites you to take a break before you Gollwitz From there, you’ll have a great view of the Langenwerder bird sanctuary. You’ll cycle back to Fährdorf at a leisurely pace along quiet country roads and small tree-lined avenues. If you’ve had enough pedaling, take the “shortcut” by boat: During the season (approx. April through November), you can take the MS Adler nature—a modern electric passenger ferry—from Kirchdorf, along with your e-bike, directly to Wismar’s Old Harbor. From Wismar, it’s then only about 15 km back to Bades Huk.
