With the arrival of the first warm days, the ideal time for long bike rides along the Baltic Sea coast begins. A special perk for guests and visitors to Bades Huk: The international Baltic Sea Coast Cycle Route, EuroVelo 10, runs right past the resort and connects some of northern Germany’s most beautiful coastal landscapes.

One of its most idyllic stretches begins right outside the resort's door: The tour from Hohen Wieschendorf nach Wismar It is about 15 kilometers long and runs through one of the quietest and most unspoiled regions of the Baltic Sea. From the resort, cyclists simply follow the signs for the Baltic Sea Coast Cycle Route heading east. Along the flat bay, an extraordinary natural landscape unfolds: The area is part of an important bird and nature reserve where, with a little luck, you can spot seabirds, cranes, or birds of prey.
Along the way, tranquil stretches of coastline, natural beaches, and shallow shoreline areas alternate—many of which are still true hidden gems. On a clear day, the view extends far across the bay to the island of Poel and the small bird sanctuary island of Walfisch.
The closer you get to the Hanseatic city of Wismar, the more clearly the striking silhouettes of the brick churches stand out on the horizon. They are part of the historic old town, which, as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is considered one of the most significant examples of North German Brick Gothic architecture. After the bike tour, the narrow alleys, cafés, and historic harbor invite you to take a relaxing break.
